WhatsApp has banned a total of 71,96,000 accounts. Of these, 19,54,000 accounts have been banned even before receiving the complaint. All the accounts that have been banned are those of +91. In November 2023, WhatsApp received 8,841 complaints, out of which it took action on six.

Instant multimedia messaging app WhatsApp has banned 71 lakh accounts in India in a month. These accounts on WhatsApp have been banned for violating the policy.

WhatsApp has banned these accounts in November 2023. Every month social media companies release their reports under IT Rules 2021. WhatsApp has taken this action between 1-30 November 2023.

WhatsApp had also received 8 complaints from the Grievance Appellate Committee (GAC), which the company has resolved. GAC has been created by the Government of India. GAC committee looks into complaints against various social media platforms.
