C-20 conference from today: 250 delegates of civil society from G20 and other countries will participate

The civil society C-20 conference of the G-20 summit will begin in Nagpur today. The convention will continue till March 22. About 250 representatives of civil society from G20 countries and other countries will participate in this conference. Delegates started reaching Nagpur airport on Sunday evening. The summit will focus on C20 collective action to accelerate progress on the SDGs while supporting developing countries in addressing concerns related to Food, Fuel, and Fertilizers.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, there will be two events on the first day of the meeting 'Data for Development (D4D): Role of G20 in taking forward the 2030 Agenda' and 'Incorporating New LiFE in Green Development'. The D4D side event titled 'Rejuvenating Legacy Systems': From Data to Public Value Intelligence' and 'Models for the Future: Leveraging IoT, Big Data and AI for the SDGs'.
The post-lunch program has been organized under the theme 'Infusing New Life into Green Development'.
The first meeting of the Development Working Group (DWG) under India's G20 chairmanship was held in Mumbai on 13 December. It was attended by members, guest countries and invited international organizations. G20 delegates met at the iconic Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. These representatives had gone for a walk after the meeting. During the walk, the delegates were seen enjoying the traditional culture of Maharashtra by playing drums.
Along with the G20 delegates, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and India's G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant also visited the Gateway of India on 13 December. Cultural programs showcasing the folk dance and music traditions of Maharashtra were presented at the Gateway of India.
Speaking to ANI, United Nations Resident Coordinator for India, Shomby Sharp said about the event, "It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day at the G20 here and the Development Working Group side sessions began, followed by a wonderful evening.", dinner, cultural events and to top it all at the Gateway, it was indeed a wonderful evening.'
The G20 includes Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
