Delhi Govt. to Enhance Prison Security with Deployment of Jammer Tech

The Delhi government is looking to enhance prison security by completely eliminating mobile phone use in jails. To this end, a committee has been formed by the government to evaluate jammer technologies from around the world.

The committee comprises experts from IIT Madras, IISC Bangalore, DRDO, C-DAT, and IB and SPG officers, and is chaired by DG (Prisons). The committee will recommend the most effective jammer technology, including 5G network, to the Delhi government for implementation in the jail system. The committee will also examine the existing mobile network and suggest technical guidelines for installing BTS towers around jails.
