BMW has developed another version of its M3 sedan. In this case, it is a limited edition with a manual gearbox only. It is called the M3 CS Handschalter, where "Handschalter" means manual gear in German. This version of the vehicle has a 6-speed manual transmission, which transmits all the power to the rear wheels. At the moment, it is offered only in the United States and Canada.

As for the engine, the M3 CS Handschalter features the S58 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six. It delivers 473 hp and 550 Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.1 seconds, while the maximum speed is 290 km/h.

BMW says that its steering and electronic control settings, along with the chassis, engine, and gearbox, have been specifically tuned for the Handschalter. The car sits 6 mm lower than the standard M3. New springs and an improved rear axle link have been used to give it a better track-reading position. The car features more robust dampers from the M4 CSL model, giving it more rigidity and improved feedback.

The exterior is largely the same as the standard, but the CS Handschalter features some distinctive changes. Its adaptive LED snake-eye daytime running lights are yellow instead of white like the standard car. Additionally, the frameless kidney grille features a red-colored outline and an M3 CS badge. The car features forged alloy wheels in different sizes, 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear.

Inside, it features a curved dual-tone screen layout. It combines a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. New M Carbon bucket seats are provided for front passengers, which are lighter in weight and offer better corner support. BMW offers the M Drive Professional package as standard. This includes features like 10-stage M traction control, an M drift analyzer, and an M lap timer for track driving enthusiasts.

The MC CS Handschalter is being sold in limited numbers in the US and Canada, with a starting price of US$107,100 (approximately Rs. 1.03 crore).
