Director Vikas Phadnis Announces Women-Centric Feature Film ‘Mathri’

New Delhi [India], March 03: Think Creative Films, in association with Siikho, has officially announced its upcoming women-centric feature film Mathri (मठरी), directed by filmmaker Vikas Phadnis. Rooted in the heartland of rural India, the film promises an emotionally powerful story reflecting relationships, aspirations, and the evolving strength of women from small-town India. The film features six women in lead roles, placing their journeys and voices at the core of the narrative.

Written and directed by Vikas Phadnis, the film blends meaningful storytelling with a strong cinematic vision. Acclaimed cinematographer Gautam Chaudhary joins the project as Director of Photography, bringing visual authenticity to the film’s rural setting.

Currently in pre-production, Mathri (मठरी) is set to go on floors soon, with shooting scheduled across real locations in Madhya Pradesh to capture the natural essence and realism of the story. Speaking about the film, Phadnis shared, “This story comes from our roots and reflects real emotions and real people.”
