The BSF and police arrested a suspected Pakistani citizen from the border district of Barmer in Rajasthan on Sunday.
21-year-old Jagsi Koli was arrested from Naya Tal border outpost of Sedwa police station area of Barmer. Koli is a resident of Akali village of Kharodi district of Pakistan. BSF is interrogating the suspect.
According to Jagran, the man entered India from Pakistan during the night of 24-25 August. During patrolling and surveillance checks, the BSF found his footprints after which a search operation was launched. The BSF team reached Jadpa village under the Sedwa police station area. It was from here that the Pakistani man was arrested.
Chohtan Circle Officer Kritika Yadav confirmed the report and said that a Pakistani national was apprehended from the border area. She further added that they are waiting for the official report of BSF, after which they will register a case.
Many are considering this incident as a serious security lapse and are raising questions that how can someone cross the border when the Indo-Pak international border is fenced? Earlier in September 2019, a Pakistani national identified as Bhalchand was arrested by the BSF after crossing the fence on the international border.
