Faridabad Student Viraj Jain Creates SDG Anthem “One World, One Promise” to Promote Sustainability Awareness

“What can someone my age truly do for the Earth?” he said.

Over several months, he wrote the lyrics, developed the composition, and recorded the anthem independently. The song aims to make sustainability more relatable for young audiences and encourage conversations around environmental responsibility.

“Sometimes global challenges feel too big for one person,” Viraj said. “But if each of us makes small changes in how we live and think, together those small steps can become a powerful movement for the planet.”

The anthem is not positioned as a solution, but as an effort to encourage awareness, particularly among students and young people.

Viraj’s interest in sustainability extends beyond music. He has been involved in student-led discussions and initiatives within his school community, encouraging peers to reflect on habits related to waste, resource use, and environmental responsibility.

He has also written a book for young readers titled “Happy Earth: Stories of a Greener Tomorrow,” which uses storytelling to introduce environmental themes in a simple and relatable manner.

The SDG Anthem “One World, One Promise”has been released on his YouTube channel “VirajVibes United,” where it is accompanied by reflections on the ideas behind the project. The anthem has begun reaching young audiences online, sparking conversations around everyday sustainability.

The initiative comes at a time when there is increasing focus on youth engagement in sustainability. While large-scale solutions remain central to climate and development discussions, individual awareness and small actions continue to play an important role in building long-term change.

Viraj believes that young people can contribute meaningfully to this effort.

“We are not too young to make a difference,” he said. “We are exactly the right age to start.”

For Viraj, the anthem represents an early step in what he sees as a longer journey of engaging with sustainability through music, writing, and peer interaction, with a focus on encouraging young people to take small but meaningful action.
