New Delhi [India], July 18: A powerful blend of truth, testimony, and transformation, Hope Restored chronicles real-life rescue stories of children trapped in labour across India. Drawing from over a decade of ground experience and policy advocacy, Dr. Pandya offers a deeply moving yet practical guide for activists, educators, and concerned citizens. This book is a vital resource in the ongoing fight to protect every child’s right to a safe and dignified childhood.
In a world where the cries of exploited children are too often drowned in silence, Dr. Shailendra Pandya’s debut book, Hope Restored: The Fight Against Child Labour, arrives as a resounding call to conscience—and action. A native of Udaipur, Rajasthan, Dr. Pandya is not just a child rights advocate; he is a determined changemaker whose life work has impacted thousands of vulnerable children
Inspired early on by his father, who walked 10 miles a day just to attend school and educate himself. Dr. Pandya’s journey took an unusual turn. Despite earning a degree in Computer Science Engineering and securing a job in a multinational company, he felt an unshakable pull toward serving marginalized communities. Thirteen years and over 4,600 rescued children later, that purpose has taken the form of both grassroots fieldwork and policy-level advocacy, making him one of the youngest members to have served on the Rajasthan State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Government of Rajasthan.
