Bharat Climate Forum 2025 to Unveil Roadmap to Clean Tech Manufacturing for Net-Zero and Atmanirbhar Bharat on 10 January 2025

Hosted by the Council for International Economic Understanding (CIEU) in partnership with Dalberg Advisors, the Forum will convene policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and clean energy experts. Key topics include clean tech innovation, green mobility, renewable energy, and government-industry collaboration. The event will also launch the Bharat Cleantech Manufacturing Platform, an initiative to strengthen India’s clean tech value chains—spanning solar, wind, hydrogen, and battery storage—while driving investment and job creation.

Speaking on the launch on the Forum, NK Singh, Chairperson, Bharat Climate Forum, Former Member Rajya Sabha and Chairman of the 15^th Finance Commission, underscored the importance of self-reliance for India's clean energy goals. He said, “India’s path to net-zero is not only a climate imperative but an economic necessity. The Bharat Climate Forum 2025 emphasizes the need for self-reliance—Atmanirbhar Bharat—as we work towards indigenizing clean tech production, creating jobs, and securing energy independence. By investing in our domestic capabilities, India can emerge as a global leader in the green energy revolution.”

Ashwani Mahajan, Member of the Board of Governers of CIEU and National Co-Convenor of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, remarked, “Atmanirbharta is the cornerstone of India's economic strength and resilience. The Forum will commence with a fireside chat featuring Ram Madhav, President, India Foundation, and BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog, discussing Bharat’s potential as a cleantech manufacturing hub. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, will deliver a keynote address, followed by discussions on cost-competitive solutions in renewable energy, green mobility, and sustainable supply chains. Industry leaders from Tata Motors Limited, Mahindra Group, will explore the role of EVs, hybrid vehicles, and fuel cell technology in India’s green mobility transition. The forum will conclude with high-level fireside chats featuring Taranjit Sandhu, Former Indian Ambassador to the USA; Rachel Kyte, UK Climate Envoy; Lord Adair Turner, Chair, Energy Transitions Commission and Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General, ISA focusing on how India can leverage geopolitical alliances, technology transfer, and strategic collaborations to secure financing and drive clean tech innovation. Concrete next steps include a proposed agreement between CIEU, Dalberg and the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
