The weather conditions in Rajasthan are going to change yet again. It was observed that a new western disturbance began impacting from Wednesday onwards, leading to thunderstorms, rainfall, and hailstorm becoming more intense in several regions of the state until June 6. An orange and yellow alert have been issued by the Meteorological Department for several districts.
It was reported by the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur that there are currently two air circulations affecting the state. The first one is located in northeast Rajasthan, whereas the second is present in western Rajasthan and its neighboring regions. Consequently, thunderstorms with winds blowing at the speed of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour can be expected in Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, Kota, and some parts of the Udaipur divisions. In addition to the mentioned, light to moderate rainfall and hailstorms are also expected.
It should be mentioned that because of the new western disturbance that has begun since June 3 and 4, several districts are expected to receive rainfall with thunderstorms blowing at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour.
Due to the ongoing thunderstorms and rain over the past few days, temperatures in the state have remained below normal. The maximum temperature in the capital, Jaipur, was recorded at 35.6 degrees Celsius, which is about 5 degrees below normal. Temperatures have also dropped in most cities, including Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Alwar, and Sikar.
Weather experts believe that due to the influence of persistent western disturbances and local weather systems, maximum temperatures are likely to remain below 43 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state for the next week. This will provide relief from the scorching heat and heatwaves.
However, the Meteorological Department has advised people to exercise caution during strong storms, lightning, and hailstorms. People have been advised to stay away from open spaces, trees, and weak structures, and to keep an eye on weather warnings.
