Nothing has signaled the release of any new devices in India. The new device will be unveiled as a part of a new 'b' series range in the country. At present, the company offers smartphones in its numbered series and wireless audio products. However, the forthcoming device will be the first of its kind from the brand with a 'b' suffix. An insider has also claimed that the Carl Pei-founded company is planning to release a new smartphone in India as an aftermath of reassigning its existing mobile phone projects from its sub-brand to Nothing. Nevertheless, neither the name nor the category of the product has been divulged yet.
In an X post, the London-based tech firm teased a new device from Nothing, which will be the first in its 'b' series line-up. However, the name and the category of the product have not been disclosed by the company yet. The teaser video does not offer much information about the device, but it hints at the transformation of the letter 'a' into 'b'.
For context, Nothing currently offers numbered series handsets and headphones as part of its product portfolio, alongside an 'a' series that is more affordable than the numbered models. Therefore, this upcoming device could belong to any of these product lines. The latest addition to the company's handset lineup is the Nothing Phone 4a series (comprising the Nothing Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro), which was launched in India on March 5. Additionally, the company retails the Nothing Ear A, which was introduced in India in April 2024.
Furthermore, tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) has claimed that CMF-the tech firm's sub-brand-has transferred all its existing smartphone projects to Nothing. This move follows CMF's decision to shelve plans for launching any new handsets this year and to delay the launch of the successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro.
While CMF has confirmed it will not launch any phones in India this year, the tipster claims that Nothing plans to unveil a new smartphone in the country next month. However, the tipster did not clarify whether this upcoming handset would be launched as part of the new 'b' product portfolio.
It is worth noting that the Nothing Phone 4a features a 6.78-inch (1,224×2,720 pixel) LTPS flexible AMOLED display, offering a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, which reportedly delivers a peak clock speed of 2.7GHz. The Nothing Phone 4a also sports the new Glyph Bar interface, featuring 63 mini-LEDs and six individually addressable zones.
