Meta has introduced its first image creation model - Muse Image - from its newly created lab, Meta Superintelligence Labs. The company has also introduced a new video creation tool, Muse Video, which will be released soon to creators and Meta AI users. Meta is increasing the use of its AI products in Meta AI, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook.

The Muse Image tool is now live on the Meta AI app and Meta.ai. The tool is now accessible to US users through Instagram Stories. The availability of the tool in WhatsApp is being gradually rolled out in some countries.

In contrast to traditional image models, which generate images using prompts, the Muse Image tool uses a unique approach by reasoning and then creating an image. The model has the ability to search the web for up-to-date data, write code for generating perfect QR codes, and generate charts and graphics, among others.

Users can also perform advanced image editing, modifying specific parts of an image without affecting the entire image. It can also combine multiple reference images within a single prompt, allowing users to merge people, objects, locations, and artistic styles into a single scene. The company also claims that the model improves its output by spending more time reasoning rather than repeatedly trying different images.

The social media giant has also announced Muse Video, which is built on the same foundation as Muse Image. The company says this upcoming model focuses on improved prompt adherence, improved visual quality, and native audio generation. This model is currently undergoing testing.

The company has also introduced Content Seal, an invisible watermark hidden in AI-generated images. According to the company, this watermark remains untouched even after cropping, resizing, or compressing the image, helping users identify AI-generated content.

It will also power several new creative features in Meta's apps, including AI-generated Instagram Story effects, image generation within WhatsApp chats, and room redesign suggestions using products from the web and Facebook Marketplace. Meta says Muse Image is available free for everyday use, with higher usage limits available through subscription plans.
