Royal Challengers Bangalore set Gujarat Titans a target of 156 runs to win in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League 2026 on Thursday. RCB is aiming to win this match and reach the top of the points table. Electing to bat after losing the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium, RCB were all out for 155 in 19.2 overs. The opening pair of Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli provided a steady start for the team. The two players added 34 runs for the first wicket in 16 balls.

Jacob Bethell returned to the pavilion after scoring 5 runs. In the very next over, the team lost Virat Kohli, who was dismissed for 28 off 13 balls, hitting 6 boundaries. RCB had lost both their openers for 35 in 3.2 overs. Devdutt Padikkal then took charge along with captain Rajat Patidar. The two shared a 44-run partnership for the third wicket in 26 balls.

In this match, Jason Holder's name was added to the list of players who took the most catches in an innings for Gujarat Titans. Earlier, Rashid Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Arshad Khan and Shubman Gill had achieved this feat by taking 3 catches each.
