FASTags are necessary when driving on Indian National Highways. If you don't have a FASTag, the toll booths will collect twice the amount in taxes. Maintaining your FASTag involves regular recharging. The process is quite simple today and even takes just a few minutes at your own place.
Everyone has become digital these days. To recharge your FASTag, open Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm app and head to the Bill Payment or Recharge page. Select FASTag, provide your bank name and the number of your vehicle. Then, add your recharge amount and make payment.
Alternatively, you may recharge by using apps from banks or net banking facility. Just open the app of your bank, select FASTag section, input your vehicle number or FASTag number, and make payment. Thereafter, input the required details for making payment.
It is an official app by NHAI (National Highway Authority of India). You can download it from either of the two sources – Google Play Store or App Store. Open the app and go to recharge section, input your vehicle number and pay through your choice of UPI and net banking.
BBPS can be used for recharging your FASTag on any platform that supports BBPS service. Also, you can opt for internet banking or make payment in cash at the Common Service Centre nearby. You have to maintain a minimum balance in your wallet, say ₹150 to ₹200.
