Samsung Electronics India has announced that the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G will make its way into India at the end of this month. Furthermore, the company has unveiled the details about the colors, design, and specifications of the new Galaxy M-series smartphone. The device will feature three rear cameras and will be available in two colors. Also, the smartphone features Snapdragon chipset, LPDDR5x RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. The display of the device will feature sAMOLED technology along with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
The dedicated microsite of Galaxy M47 5G announces that the smartphone will hit the market in India on June 29. The microsite has revealed that there will be two color options available - Blaze Blue and Rogue Red. The design of the Galaxy M47 5G resembles the Galaxy A-series phones and features a flat rear camera module along with a pill-shaped camera module.
Regarding specifications, the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon chipset (the specific model name has not yet been disclosed). The handset will also feature LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage. The phone will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, offering a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.
Samsung has promised six OS upgrades and six years of security updates for its upcoming smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy M47 5G will launch with Samsung's One UI 8.5, based on Android 16. Along with the latest software, the phone will include various AI tools, such as AI Voice Transcription.
Regarding the camera setup, the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G is confirmed to launch in India with a triple rear camera system. The handset will feature a 50-megapixel main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Additionally, it will include a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies and video calls, there will be a 12-megapixel front camera housed within a punch-hole display cutout. Samsung claims the phone will be capable of recording 4K video.
Finally, the tech giant has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G will debut with support for 45W wired fast charging. It will also support bypass charging, a feature claimed to reduce the extra stress placed on the phone's battery. The company further claims that the handset will offer 4x scratch resistance and the durability to withstand drops from a height of 2 meters.
