The new Redmi K90 Ultra will soon make its debut in China, as per Xiaomi's official Twitter post from Tuesday. It will become a part of the existing Redmi K90 line of smartphones that consists of models such as the Redmi K90, K90 Pro, and K90 Max. Additional information regarding the upcoming smartphone was unveiled with its unveiling approaching. The Redmi K90 Ultra will feature Qualcomm's 2024 chipset and images reveal its design as well as its cooling capabilities.
On Weibo, Xiaomi stated that the unveiling of the Redmi K90 Ultra in China is scheduled for June 30 at 7:00 PM (4:30 PM IST). Prior to the announcement, the device was unveiled in its Space Silver version. The design resembles that of Redmi K90 Max with its big horizontal camera module located on the back housing dual cameras. An interesting aspect of the design is the air outlet under the camera module that serves as an air vent for an active cooling fan.
It has also been confirmed that the Redmi K90 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The company claims to have upgraded the thermal solution. Combined with an active cooling system, this will help the handset maintain peak performance over extended periods. Redmi claims that the K90 Ultra will be capable of maintaining a stable frame rate for 60 minutes while playing graphically intensive 3D turn-based games at maximum visual settings, without any throttling.
While most specifications remain under wraps, previous reports suggest that the Redmi K90 Ultra could feature a 6.89-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It may house a battery with a capacity of 8,000mAh or higher, making it one of the largest batteries seen in a flagship smartphone. According to reports, the handset will include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Notably, the company has already opened pre-orders for the Redmi K90 Ultra ahead of its launch in China. Further details, including the full specifications, are expected to be revealed around the launch date of June 30.
