Today in Rajasthan, the climate is varied. The scorching heat persists, while storms and rainfall have been favorable for some districts and a hindrance for others. Over the past 24 hours, Chittorgarh reported a temperature of 43.4 degrees Celsius, while some other districts, like Jaipur, witnessed occasional rainfall accompanied by thunder.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the activation of a western disturbance, a yellow alert for storms and rain has been issued for the next 48 hours in 15 districts, including Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, and Sikar. During this period, strong winds of 30 to 50 kmph are expected. Farmers have been advised to protect their crops and the public has been advised to exercise caution.
The heatwave continues to affect various regions in Rajasthan. The temperature remained at 42.6 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, 42.0 degrees Celsius in Barmer, 41.8 degrees Celsius in Phalodi, and 41.4 degrees Celsius in Bikaner. Heatwaves prevailed in certain areas of Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Jalore districts, disrupting people's normal lives.
The capital, Jaipur, recorded a maximum temperature of 41.0°C and a minimum of 28.7°C. Partly cloudy skies, thunderstorms, lightning, and light rain are expected here, along with strong winds.
In Bharatpur, a strong morning storm and heavy rain brought pleasant weather and a drop in temperatures. Meanwhile, a strong storm in Kota caused chaos. A sudden evening storm disrupted wedding ceremonies, uprooting tents, knocking out lighting, and disrupting arrangements.
The Meteorological Department says that due to the influence of a western disturbance and winds from the Bay of Bengal, thunderstorm activity will continue in many parts of the state for the next 3-4 days. Another system is expected to become active from May 2nd, which could further increase the intensity of the storm.
