The monsoon season is well established in eastern Rajasthan, but western Rajasthan is yet to witness the rains. Several districts in the west remain to witness the monsoon. An orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur for eastern and south-eastern Rajasthan comprising of Baran, Bharatpur, Deeg, Dholpur, and Jhalawar.

These areas may face extremely heavy rainfall at some places. The yellow alert remains in effect for most parts of the state excluding Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jodhpur, and Jalore of Western Rajasthan. The Meteorological department has predicted that light to moderate rainfall along with thundershowers and possibly heavy rain can occur in these areas.

During the past 24 hours, good rainfall was recorded in eastern and southern Rajasthan. Bayana in Bharatpur and Mandrayal in Karauli received over 84 mm of rain, while Bhadesar and Nimbahera in Chittorgarh also recorded nearly three inches of rain. Heavy rain also lashed several areas of Alwar, Dausa, Dholpur, Karauli, Kota, and Udaipur divisions. Roads were flooded in several districts, including Bharatpur, Alwar, Karauli, and Chittorgarh.

The continuous rain also brought down temperatures. Maximum temperatures dropped below 35 degrees Celsius in many cities, including Jaipur, Alwar, Tonk, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, Dausa, Pratapgarh, Jhunjhunu, Ajmer, and Bhilwara, providing relief from the humidity and heat. Jaisalmer recorded the highest temperature in the state at 41.6 degrees Celsius.

The capital, Jaipur, remained cloudy throughout the day, with light rain in several areas. The maximum temperature was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 26.4 degrees Celsius. In Jodhpur, the recent rains brought down the temperature, reducing the heat.

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon effect will continue until July 10th, and moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in many districts. After this, the monsoon system may weaken from July 11th, leading to a decrease in rainfall activity. However, light to moderate rainfall may continue at some places.
