For the 25th IPL 2026 match, Kolkata Knight Riders will face Gujarat Titans on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In this match, Jos Buttler achieved a significant milestone of taking 300 catches in T20 cricket.
Buttler becomes the fourth cricketer and second wicket-keeper in the history of T20 cricket to take 300 catches. The record holder for the most number of T20 catches is Kieron Pollard, who has taken 405 catches in his career. He is followed by David Miller in second position with 332 catches and Quinton de Kock in third place with 316 catches.
Buttler's performance in IPL 2026 has been impressive so far. Playing for the Gujarat Titans, he has scored 176 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 158. He has also scored two half-centuries. In the last match against the Lucknow Supergiants, Buttler played a brilliant innings of 60 runs in 37 balls, hitting 11 fours.
However, Buttler's performance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 was not as expected. The experienced England wicketkeeper-batsman scored just 87 runs in eight innings at an average of 10.87 and a strike rate of 116.
