Although India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took just one wicket in the semi-final match against England, his tight bowling with an economy of 8.20 was instrumental in India’s victory. Even Stuart Broad and Steven Finn, former England bowlers, hailed Jasprit Bumrah as the best fast bowler of all time.
Bumrah bowled a brilliant 18th over, conceding just 6 runs. This over was difficult for England to win. Jasprit Bumrah’s tight bowling was instrumental in India’s second consecutive T20 World Cup final appearance. Although both teams scored at a rate of 12.5 runs per over, India’s Jasprit Bumrah gave away just 33 runs in his four overs. His first ball was also instrumental in getting England’s captain Harry Brook’s wicket.
Steven Finn praised Bumrah's skills, calling him the greatest bowler of all time. Speaking to Broad, Finn said, "Everyone else is human. There are good bowlers, there are great bowlers, but then there's Jasprit Bumrah, who's above them all right now. I'd also include players like Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc in that. I think he's from a different world than any other bowler."
Broad agreed with Finn, saying, "You can make a very strong argument that he's the greatest fast bowler of all time. Malcolm Marshall, Richard Hadlee, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath—all of them great players. It's difficult to compare because we haven't seen Malcolm Marshall bowl in a T20 World Cup semi-final, where the ball flies all over the place. But for me, he's definitely the best fast bowler I've ever seen play."
In the current T20 World Cup, Bumrah is India's second-highest wicket-taker with 10 wickets. Bumrah has bowled 24 overs in seven matches, conceding 159 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah is currently preparing for the title match against New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India's top pacer, Bumrah, achieved a major milestone in his career during the semi-final against England at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. He became the eighth Indian bowler to reach 500 international wickets, joining Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, Kapil Dev, Ravindra Jadeja, Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath.
