The sixth match of T20 World Cup 2024 played between England and Scotland at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on Tuesday night has been washed away by rain. Scotland won the toss and decided to bat first and while batting first, they scored 90 runs in 10 overs without losing any wickets, but in the meantime, it started raining and then further play could not take place. After the match was canceled due to rain, both the teams got 1-1 points. With this, England's dream of winning the T20 match against European teams has also been shattered.
Scotland's captain, Richie Berrington, won the toss and opted to bat first. The opening batsmen confirmed the captain's selection correct, scoring 90 runs in 10 overs. Jors Munsey scored 41 runs in 31 balls, including four fours and two sixes, while Michael Jones scored 45 runs in 30 balls. Rain interrupted the match after 10 overs, and it was unable to resume.
England is one of the world's top three cricket teams, yet it has yet to overcome a European team in a T20 International match. The biggest European team has played 5 T20 International matches against neighboring teams so far, out of which it has faced defeat in three, while two matches were inconclusive.
