Innovating Finance Data Modeling at Align Technology
Currently leading SAP BTP – Finance Data Modeling & Reporting at Align Technology Inc., Vikas has played a pivotal role in reshaping financial forecasting. He spearheaded the SAP Datasphere project for the FP&A team, seamlessly automating data discovery, transformation, and reporting. His contributions have led to a remarkable reduction in financial month-end reporting time—from 10 days to just two—optimizing workforce efficiency and enabling data-driven insights.
His expertise was showcased at the SAP Datasphere Customer Success Workshop, where he shared groundbreaking strategies for SAP BTP implementations. By integrating advanced statistical modeling with SAP Datasphere and Power BI, he has transformed financial data visualization, allowing businesses to derive actionable insights faster than ever before.
Tech Leadership and Cloud Innovation
Before joining Align, Vikas spent four years at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as an SAP Infrastructure Lead, managing a team of 40 professionals across cloud, database, and SAP functions. He successfully led the migration of SAP services from IBM Private Cloud to Azure Public Cloud, achieving a staggering $3 million in cost savings. His leadership in deploying SAP landscapes on Azure ensured seamless integration with enterprise systems, reinforcing his expertise in cloud infrastructure.
Earlier in his career, he held key roles at TCS, Capgemini, and Tech Mahindra, where he specialized in SAP administration, cloud security, and AI-driven automation. His pioneering work in robotics automation and cloud-based SAP integrations has improved transaction processing and enhanced the efficiency of global enterprises.
Beyond Work: Research, Patents and Continuous Learning
Vikas is not just an industry leader, he's also a contributor to technological advancements. His research on AI’s impact on credit decisions was published in the International Journal of Computer Trends and Technology, cementing his thought leadership in ethical AI applications for finance.
His passion for innovation extends to patents. He recently filed a design patent for an AI-powered smart car key that displays a vehicle’s lock status using color-coded indicators, an idea that blends machine learning with human-centric design.
As an IEEE member and a part of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Vikas remains deeply engaged with the global tech community. He actively pursues continuing education, always looking for the next technological breakthrough that can revolutionize industries.
