New Delhi [India], May 29: In a heartwarming display of environmental stewardship and patriotism, Varsha Rajkhowa, daughter of Wing Commander Atul Rajkhowa, organised a tree plantation drive at the Yuddh Veerangana Hostel, Sainik Vishram Grah (Soldiers’ Rest House) in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Varsha, a renowned figure as International Beauty Queen – Miss Scuba International 2016, Founder – Oceanic Divas, Climate Reality Leader, Ocean Ambassador India, Model, TEDx Speaker, and Environmentalist, has once again proven her commitment to creating a positive impact.
The event, held in collaboration with the families of martyrs, including Veerangana Samudra Kanwar, widow of martyr Jagdish Singh, Dava Ram, father of martyr Bhupendra, and the brother of martyr Govardhan Ram, saw the planting of 20 fruit-bearing and shade-giving trees. This initiative aims to promote environmental conservation and inspire the younger generation to be mindful of their ecological footprint.
Under the “Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani” (Remember the Sacrifice) initiative by Oceanic Divas, Varsha has pledged to plant trees across India in memory of the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Kargil War. Following last year’s successful tree plantation drives in Kerala, Delhi, Pune, Kargil, Bangalore, and Leh-Ladakh, Varsha has chosen Rajasthan as the focus for this year’s efforts, starting with Jodhpur on the occasion of Kargil Day.
