Xiaomi is about to introduce its new Xiaomi 17 series. This new series is to be launched by the company in China by the end of this month. The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will be part of this new series. The design of the handsets has already been unveiled by the company.
Interestingly, the Xiaomi 17 Pro variant will also have an auxiliary screen on the rear. All devices in the new lineup will be driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. These devices are said to be successors to last year's Xiaomi 15 series of smartphones.
The company has confirmed in a Weibo post that the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will be launched in China on September 25th at 4:30 PM IST. The entire series is reportedly receiving a cross-generation power upgrade and will be powered by the new Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
The promotional posters shared by the company tease the rear panels of the three upcoming devices. All devices will feature Leica-backed cameras. The regular variants will feature a rectangular camera module with rounded corners, located in the upper left corner of the back panel. While the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will feature a Magic Back Screen.
This means that the Pro and Pro Max models will feature a secondary display on the back, integrated with the rear camera module. This screen will display a variety of information, including animated themes. The company has also revealed that the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is currently Snapdragon's most powerful processor.
