The unique coincidence has occurred in the three armies of the country. Now their command will be in the hands of three classmates. Recently, Air Marshal AP Singh has been made the Chief of the Air Force. Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and AP Singh share a close relationship.

At the same time, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi has been a fellow student of General Upendra Dwivedi. Now the command of the Army, Navy, and Air Force will be in the hands of these three classmates. The special thing is that the appointment of all the three Army Chiefs has been done within the last five months.

Air Marshal Amarpreet Singh (AP) and Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi are course-mates of the 65th course of the National Defence Academy. Both the Army Chiefs passed out from there in 1983. Besides this, General Upendra Dwivedi and Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi together attended the Sainik School, Rewa in Madhya Pradesh.

Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi took over as the Chief of the Navy on 30 April this year. At the same time, General Upendra Dwivedi took over on 30 June. Now, Air Marshal AP Singh's turn would come on 30 September as the next Chief of the Air Force.

Because of the strong relations in the National Defense Academy, General Upendra Dwivedi, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Air Marshal AP Singh are very good friends. Special things are that it will help in increasing coordination between the three forces.

The Department of Military Affairs headed by Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan is working on the formulation of theater commands for the defense forces. Its aim is to enhance coordination between the three forces, which implies that close friendship between the chiefs of the three armies will prove even more helpful.
