The smartphone industry is currently paying much attention to battery technology. It has been reported that the Chinese brand Honor has developed a smartphone with a battery capacity of 14,000 mAh. This figure is double that of the current standard of 7,000 mAh used in high-end smartphones. Honor previously launched a smartphone that has a battery capacity of 11,000 mAh.

The details have been revealed by a Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station who revealed the information on social media platform, highlighting the smartphone's 14,000 mAh battery. Prior to this, Honor unveiled the Honor X80 Pro Max with a 11,000 mAh battery.

As for the new smartphone, the tipster mentioned that the device will weigh 220 grams. The weight may seem quite heavy, yet it is still lighter than certain premium smartphones. In comparison, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro Max weigh 214 grams and 233 grams respectively.

Few details about the phone have been revealed so far. However, regarding the Honor X80 Pro Max, the company claims it can deliver up to four days of battery life on a single charge. Consequently, the upcoming 14,000 mAh model could be an ideal option for travelers and outdoor workers.

However, a global launch for this Honor phone appears unlikely due to varying regional regulations. Europe has specific limits on battery cell capacities within smartphones, making the launch of a 14,000 mAh device in the European market difficult. In this scenario, the phone might be released only in China and a few select international markets.

Honor could leverage the phone's battery capacity as a key marketing point. Companies in today's market are launching phones equipped with 10,000 mAh batteries; notably, Realme recently introduced the Realme P4 Power in India featuring a 10,001 mAh battery, while Doogee, a manufacturer of rugged smartphones, has launched a device with a 22,000 mAh capacity.
