On the Jaipur-Ajmer highway around 8:30 am on Wednesday, a tanker filled with methanol overturned and caught fire with a loud explosion.

The tanker driver was burned alive in this tragic accident near Mokhampura village in Jaipur district. Since methanol is highly flammable, the fire spread rapidly, leaving no time for the driver to escape.

Meanwhile, witnessing the tanker burning, people on the highway panicked and caused a stampede. They abandoned their vehicles and ran away, resulting in a traffic jam stretching for several kilometers. According to police, the fire brigade managed to control the blaze after an hour, allowing traffic to resume.

It is noteworthy that in December 2024, a tanker full of LPG gas overturned while taking a U-turn on this highway, and a fire broke out. 32 people were burnt in the accident, out of which 20 died. Many vehicles were completely destroyed by the flames.
