The DLC (District Level Committee) rates of agriculture, residence, and commercial lands in Rajasthan may increase once again. With the approval of the increased DLC rates, the registration charges for lands, flats, and houses throughout the state will be hiked.
In April 2020, the rate was increased by 10 percent of all lands in the state. At present, the Finance Department of Rajasthan is reviewing the rates. The Finance Department secretary, Kumar Pal Gautam, has requested all district collectors to meet for a DLC committee meeting and reassess the rates.
Actually, the current DLC rates are applicable for the year 2024. Due to the DLC committees not meeting in 2025, the government simply increased the old rates by 10% and implemented them. Now, the department believes that in many areas, the actual market prices of land have significantly exceeded the DLC rates.
According to the Finance Department, land prices have steadily increased over the past two years along state highways, national highways, and industrial areas. The real estate market has grown rapidly in many cities and towns, while DLC rates have remained relatively low. Consequently, the government is preparing to increase revenue and adjust DLC rates in line with market values.
The department has directed all district collectors to convene DLC committee meetings by the third week of June. These meetings will discuss the new proposed rates for agricultural, residential, and commercial land. Revised proposals will then be sent to the state government.
Regarding Jaipur, DLC rates have steadily increased during the Bhajan Lal government's tenure. Following a 10% increase in April 2024, rates were raised by 5% to 15% in many areas in December 2024. A further 10% increase was implemented in April 2026. Now, potential new increases could impose additional financial burdens on the property market and ordinary buyers.
