Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is the latest gaming tablet from Nubia and has recently made its debut in the Chinese market. The device features the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and supports up to 1 TB internal storage. It features a 9.06 inches OLED display with an 185 Hz refresh rate. There are two colors available with the device that houses an 8,300mAh battery. Once it becomes available outside China, it will be known as the Red Magic Astra 2.
The starting price of the device is CNY 5,299 (Approx Rs. 74,000) for 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage. The device featuring 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage comes with a price tag of CNY 5,999 (Approx Rs. 84,000). In the top-end variant, you get 16 GB RAM with 1 TB of storage capacity with a price tag of CNY 6,999 (Approx Rs. 98,000). The tablet is available in Dark Knight and Silver Wing colors. The company has announced that the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will launch as the Red Magic Astra 2 in global markets.
The Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro runs on Redmagic OS 11.5 based on Android 16. It features a 9.06-inch 2.4K Super OLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display is made from upgraded X10 luminescent material, offering a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and 5,280Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. For better responsiveness, it features a Synaptics S3930T touch chip, which is claimed to offer an instantaneous touch sampling rate of 2000Hz.
The tablet is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset built on a 3nm process, paired with an Adreno 840 GPU. It comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro internal storage. For gaming performance, the tablet features the company's in-house developed RedCore R4 gaming chip and Energy Cube 3.0. For looks, it also features an RGB lighting system.
Speaking of the camera, the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro features a 13MP rear camera. An 8MP front camera is available for selfies and video chats. The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button, and the phone's back panel features a transparent water-cooling design.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. To combat heating issues, the tablet features a 12,016 sq mm VC Cooling system, which utilizes a composite Liquid Metal 3.0 and Graphene copper foil heat dissipation material. It also supports face unlock.
The Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is powered by an 8,300mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. It features dual Type-C ports for simultaneous charging and earphone connection, with both ports supporting 80W charging. The tablet also supports reverse charging and features 1227 stereo dual speakers. Its dimensions are 207.55×134.73×6.9mm and it weighs 363 grams.
