The Rajasthan Government on Sunday made a major administrative reshuffle and transferred 62 IAS officers. Most of the senior officers have been given a change of responsibility during the restructuring; other than this, district collectors of 11 state districts have also been transferred. Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shikhar Aggarwal, has been given additional responsibility by making him the RIICO Chairman.
Senior IAS officer Akhil Arora, who has been handling the responsibility of the Finance Department for the last five years, has now been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary in the Water Supply Department. At the same time, Aparna Arora has been transferred from the Forest Department and posted as ACS in the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been transferred to the post of Principal Secretary in the Industries Department. Kuldeep Ranka, who was the Principal Secretary to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has been removed from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and made ACS in the Higher and Technical Education Department.
Anand Kumar, who was in charge of the Home Department for about two and a half years, has been removed and made ACS Forest. In his place, Bhaskar A. Sawant has now been appointed ACS Home. Also, IAS Vaibhav Galaria has been given the responsibility of Principal Secretary, Finance.
The state government has transferred collectors in Phalodi, Hanumangarh, Sawai Madhopur, Jhunjhunu, Kotputli-Baharod, Tonk, Didwana-Kuchaman, Bharatpur, Kota, Rajsamand, and Beawar districts. This decision has been taken with the aim of administrative tightening and better operation at the district level.
Apart from this, changes have been made in the Energy, UDH, and Autonomous Governance Department. Ajitabh Sharma has been transferred from the Industry Department and appointed Principal Secretary in the Energy Department. Devashish Prasti has been removed from Finance (Budget) and made Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department. Ravi Jain has been removed from the Tourism Department and made Secretary of the Self-Governance Department.
