IPL 2026 is playing its 52nd game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The team Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field. Jofra Archer, who has shown tremendous form in power play this season, created an unbelievable record in this game. He needed 11 balls to complete his first over in this match, which was the first time in the history of IPL that any bowler has bowled 11 balls in an over.

All together, he became the seventh bowler in the history of IPL to bowl 11 balls in an over. The innings started with a four by Sai Sudarshan off Archer's ball. A wide ball came after it. No runs came from the second delivery legally bowled, but one run off the third ball. Archer then bowled a no-ball, three wides, another no-ball, and three consecutive wides. Thus, he bowled a total of 11 balls to complete his first over, yielding 18 runs.

It should be noted that Mohammed Siraj was the first to achieve this unwanted record in IPL history when he bowled 11 balls to complete an over against the Mumbai Indians in 2023. Subsequently, Tushar Deshpande, Shardul Thakur, Sandeep Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Arshdeep Singh have also achieved this record. Now, Jofra Archer has joined the list by doing the same against the Gujarat Titans. Interestingly, Archer achieved this unwanted record in the very first over of the match.
