The Income Tax Department (I-T) on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids at more than 15 locations in Bengaluru. According to information received by IANS, the raids had been going on since morning and officials were checking documents at the residences and corporate offices of some industrialists.
Sources said that the raids (Income Tax Department raids in Bengaluru) were conducted in cases related to tax evasion by some industrialists and gold traders.
According to the information received, officials from Chennai and Mumbai offices arrived on Tuesday night. The raids were conducted in Vijayanagar, Hulimavu, Sadashivnagar, and Sanki Tank areas.
Sources also said that raids are also being conducted at the residence of a female dentist. More information is awaited in the case. The news is being updated.
