Google Maps has become an important part of people's lives nowadays. Whenever people do not know the way to someplace, they use Google Maps. In Kerala, using Google Maps has cost people's lives.

Actually, a group of people who had come to Kerala from Hyderabad were using the map to travel. During this time, due to the wrong path, people's cars fell into a river near the Kuruppanthara district of Kerala.

This incident occurred last night while a group of four people—including a woman—were traveling in the direction of Alappuzha. They've been told that heavy rains have caused the road they were on to become covered in water near the river. Because he had no idea where this route was, he relied on Google Maps to guide him at every turn. But because of incorrect information and a lot of rain, his car ended up in the river.

The fact that the police and locals arrived at the scene was a saving grace, though. The traveling group was then rescued, but their car submerged entirely in the river. An officer from the Kaduthuruthy police station, close to Kerala, reportedly took inventory of the entire incident.

After this he said, continuous efforts are being made to remove the vehicle. He also said that such incidents happen frequently in Kerala, this is not the first such incident.

Last year also a similar case was reported from Kerala in the month of October. It is known that two young doctors had become victims of this accident. He was using Google Maps to go somewhere, due to which his car fell into the river and unfortunately he died.

After this, Kerala Police imposed strict rules during the monsoon season and also issued guidelines for using Google Maps.
