After the launch of Tiago EV in India, Tata Motors is set to take the next step in its journey towards being an e-mobility brand by introducing Sierra EV. With the Sierra EV, Tata Motors will have its seventh model of electric vehicles, while Safari and Altroz won't yet get their electric models.

Sierra EV is scheduled to debut on June 30 and is seen as another landmark moment for the automaker on the path towards electric mobility. Prior to the unveiling of Sierra EV, the first teaser of the car has been shown. It will retain the basic styling of the original Sierra but will incorporate the design features common to electric cars.

As Sierra EV and Curvv EV are manufactured by the same company, Sierra EV is expected to have a similar battery pack and features. It will feature a 55kWh battery pack, dual-zone AC, three screen setup, and Level-2 ADAS.

According to media reports, the Sierra EV might also come with an AWD system, though there has been no official confirmation regarding this yet.

Images captured during testing have revealed several details about the Sierra EV's cabin. Even the lower-end variants appear to feature a large touchscreen infotainment system-likely 12.3 inches in size-along with an expected 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Higher-end variants may feature a triple-screen layout, similar to that found in the petrol and diesel models.

The car is also likely to offer features such as a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, a drive selector, and multiple drive modes. This SUV is expected to come with premium features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting.

The Sierra EV will compete against vehicles like the Maruti E-Vitara, Hyundai Creta Electric, Kia Carens/Clavis EV, Toyota eBella, Mahindra BE6, and MG ZS EV.
