Today, Rajasthan's Meteorology Department has sounded light to moderate rainfall and strongstorm in most of the districts. Jaipur Meteorology Center has predicted moderate rainfall with strong storms in Bhilwara with the exception of Alwar and Bharatpur near NCR. There were strong storms and heavy rains in NCR and nearby areas on Friday also. Light rain with storms may take place in Jodhpur, Pali, Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer and Dholpur.
According to meteorologists, the spell of storms in the state will last till the first week of next month due to the influence of western disturbance. A sharp decline in the maximum temperature has been witnessed in the state. The maximum temperature that used to remain 5 to 6 notches above normal has dipped by 7 notches below normal now. The maximum temperature in the state in the last 24 hours has been 43.4 in Jaisalmer while a day earlier the mercury has reached nearly 47 here.
The maximum temperature in Barmer was 43.4 degrees. In other cities of the state, the maximum temperature during the last 24 hours was as follows. Ajmer recorded 36.9 degrees which is 3.1 degrees less than normal. While 40.5 degrees was recorded in Bhilwara, 32.5 degrees in Alwar, 35.5 degrees in Jaipur, 31.5 degrees in Pilani, 37.5 degrees in Sikar, 39.6 degrees in Kota, 42.6 degrees in Chittorgarh, 42.8 degrees in Phalodi, 41.4 degrees in Bikaner, 34.8 degrees in Ganganagar, 34.9 in Dhaulpur, 38.3 in Nagaur, 37.5 in Anta-Baran and 36.2.5 degrees in Churu. Today, there is a possibility of rain at some places in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Udaipur divisions in eastern Rajasthan and Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions in western Rajasthan.
