Ajit Doval, a former IPS officer, has been reappointed by the central government as National Security Advisor (NSA). According to an official decree, his appointment would coincide with the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or until further notice.

At the same time, the Cabinet Appointment Committee appointed Dr. PK Mishra as the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary. PK Mishra's appointment will be for the duration of the Prime Minister's term or until further orders. According to the news agency, he would be elevated to cabinet minister level on the seniority table.

It is known that Dr. PK Mishra will handle administrative matters in the Prime Minister's Office, while Doval will oversee national security, military affairs, and intelligence matters. Doval, a 1968 batch IPS officer, has been appointed the National Security Advisor of the country for the third consecutive time. He is known as a well-known expert in anti-terrorism matters and for his expertise on nuclear issues.

On the other hand, PK Mishra is a retired officer of the 1972 batch. He has been with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the last decade. Both officers are considered to be Prime Minister Modi's closest and most trusted.
