This development will also see the resumption of the Air India direct flight service between New Delhi and Tel Aviv. The service will resume on 1 January, 2026, Israel's Tourism Ministry announced on Wednesday. In a statement, Israel's Tourism Ministry said this will increase tourism and economic exchanges between the two countries.
The reinstated route will fly five times a week from Sunday to Thursday using advanced Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. It will leave Tel Aviv at 11:40 am and arrive in Delhi at 8:50 pm, while the return flight from Delhi will depart at 7:00 am and land in Tel Aviv at 9:55 am for easy onward connections. Israeli airline Arkia Airlines has also expressed a keen interest in launching direct flights to India.
Arkia's recent high-level meeting with the Indian Ambassador highlighted its immense potential and desire to strengthen air connectivity. Arkia is considering launching flights to destinations such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Goa.
