The OnePlus 15 is another device where you can use Google Quick Share to send files to the Apple AirDrop feature. Users will be able to transfer files from one Android device to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer by using both services. It is yet another example of Android and Apple coming together to make the experience of these operating systems even better. Google initially started testing out this function on some Pixel smartphones before extending it to other Android brands. In fact, Xiaomi recently revealed that AirDrop also works with HyperOS 3.
According to Android Authority, AirDrop is available on the OnePlus 15 using the Quick Share feature. They tried the trick out on a OnePlus 15 device, but a post from the OnePlus Community reveals that there are others who have access to the same function.
In other words, OnePlus 15 owners will be able to send files to supported Apple devices directly using Quick Share, without the need for any third-party application or cloud transfer. This rollout comes just months after Google introduced Quick Share support for file exchange with Apple's AirDrop.
The report states that the OnePlus 15 is currently the only OnePlus smartphone expected to receive this feature. Older flagship models, including the OnePlus 13, are not currently included in the list of supported devices. The same appears to apply to the company's premium tablets as well.
It's worth noting that OnePlus' sister brand Oppo's Find X8 smartphone is already listed as potential devices supporting this functionality. Several other devices from Google, Vivo, and Oppo are also said to support this cross-platform file-sharing system, including the Pixel 9 series, Pixel 8a, Vivo X300 Ultra, and the Oppo Find X9 family.
According to the report, this feature becomes available when Quick Share is updated to its latest version through the Google Play Store. OnePlus 15 users don't need to make any separate software updates or configuration changes. To receive files on Apple devices, users will need to temporarily enable AirDrop reception on "Everyone." Once enabled, users will be able to share photos, documents, and other files directly between supported Android and Apple devices.
