Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], February 03: A high-level, First of its kind, Outreach and Awareness Programme on Faceless Assessments and Faceless Appeals was successfully organised by the Income Tax Department for the first time in Chennai, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss challenges and solutions in India’s faceless tax administration system.The session was presided over by Smt. Jahanzeb Akhtar, IRS, Principal Chief Commissioner (NAFAC) (NFAC), CBDT, New Delhi) and was organized by Chief Commissioner Income Tax, Dr. D. Sudhakar Rao, IRS.
Dr. CA. Abhishek Murali, President, All India Taxpayers Association (AITPA), and Regional Council Member, SIRC of ICAI (2025-29) had represented various issues faced by professionals and taxpayers.
The program saw active participation from representatives of the Revenue Bar Association, FICCI FLO Chennai, and various industry bodies, tax professionals, and legal experts. Discussions focused on addressing procedural challenges in Faceless Assessments and Faceless Appeals, streamlining processes, and ensuring a fair and transparent tax administration system.
