Laying of foundation stone of new building of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shivganj-Governor
Jaipur. Governor Shri Kalraj Mishra has said that a study of the glorious characters related to girl's education should be conducted in the schools of the state. This will not only connect the children with the ancient knowledge, but will also motivate them to move forward in life.
Governor Shri Mishra was addressing online on Saturday after laying the foundation stone of new building besides Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shivganj in Sirohi district. Remembering the late Savitri Bai Phule, the eminent social reformer who established the first school for girls in the country in 1852, Governor Shri Mishra said that girl's education is the basis of all-round development of any society. He said that in order to accelerate the economic and social development of the country and the state, more and more opportunities should be given to the girl child for education and progress. Governor Shri Mishra said that the purpose of education is also to build the personality of the students, it develops original thinking in them. He said that such an environment will have to be created in the society so that the thinking of discrimination between boys and girls is eliminated, only then the country will be able to develop in real form in all fields.
Governor Shri Mishra said that the new education policy of the country has been prepared after extensive deliberations. It emphasizes on flexible teaching methodology incorporating vocational and non-vocational subjects along with co-curricular, extra-curricular activities. He said that in the new education policy, along with science, art, culture, freedom has also been given to study related to Indian culture and rites. District In-charge and Minister of Mines and Animal Husbandry, Shri Pramod Bhaya said that in this era of competition, it is the priority of the State Government to provide best resources and facilities for education to boys and girls. He said that no stone would be left unturned at the level of the state government for the development of Sirohi district. Minister of State for Education Shri Govind Singh Dotasara said that due to the efforts of the State Government, the education sector in Rajasthan is progressively improving. In the recently released Education Sector Performance Grading Index report, Rajasthan has been placed in the second category (Grade One Plus) along with states like Delhi, Maharashtra. Mahatma Gandhi English Medium Schools have been opened in 168 blocks which do not have Vivekananda Model Schools, which has yielded good results. He said that this year also 200 English medium schools have been announced in the budget at places having population of more than 5000. Jalore-Sirohi MP Shri Devji M. Patel said that the light of education spreads in two houses by teaching one daughter. He called upon everyone to play an important role in the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign and to provide maximum opportunities to the daughters to study. MLA Shri Sanyam Lodha said that after the decision was taken to take the existing building of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shivganj for hospital, the foundation stone of this new building has been laid here today.
An estimated cost of one crore 40 lakh rupees will be made on this building to be built with DMFT fund. In the program, Governor Shri Mishra also made the attendees read about the objectives and fundamental duties of the Constitution. A cultural program was also presented by the students of the school on this occasion. On this occasion, Secretary to Governor Shri Subir Kumar, Principal Privilege Shri Govind Ram Jaiswal, District Collector of Sirohi Shri Bhagwati Prasad Kalal, Superintendent of Police Shri Dharmendra Singh, Shivganj Municipality President Vajingram Ghanchi and other dignitaries were present online.
