The Delhi government has issued a global call for expressions of interest for the Covid-19 vaccination.
The Delhi government has issued a global indication of interest (EOI) for the urgent acquisition of the COVID-19 vaccine. In the EOI document, the Directorate General of Health Services said that the offered COVID-19 vaccination must be approved by the appropriate authorities of the Indian government.
To limit and manage the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCT of Delhi's Health and Family Welfare Department plans to buy SARS-Cov2 vaccination as soon as possible. "International manufacturers of COVID-19 vaccine or their authorized representatives, or direct importers with necessary licenses to import the vaccine in India, are thus invited to submit a global expression of interest,"
Covishield, Covaxin, and Russia's Sputnik V have all been approved for use in India by the central government.
Covishield is manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII) under license from AstraZeneca, whereas Covaxin is manufactured by Bharat Biotech.
The Centre has sent 47.44 lakh doses to Delhi for those over 45, as well as healthcare and frontline workers.
So far, 44.76 lakh dosages have been given.
