Allen Career Institute names Rakesh Ranjan as CEO of its digital arm to scale AI-powered education nationwide.
National, September 25, 2025: Allen Career Institute Private Limited (“Allen”), one of India’s foremost education pioneers, has appointed Rakesh Ranjan as the Chief Executive Officer of its digital division, Allen Online. This strategic move reinforces Allen’s commitment to leveraging technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver world-class learning experiences at scale.
With this leadership appointment, Allen aims to deepen its digital-first strategy, building on its 37-year-old legacy of academic excellence to reach millions of learners across India.
Rakesh Ranjan brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in technology and consumer internet sectors. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Zomato’s Food Delivery business, where he led the company to profitability and established market leadership. He also played a pivotal role in scaling Hyperpure, Zomato’s B2B supply chain venture, into a high-growth enterprise within 18 months. Earlier in his career, he was with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), advising top Indian conglomerates on large-scale transformation.

In the past two years alone, over 1,200 Allen Online students, including 220 from live digital classes, secured admissions to India’s top IITs. Additionally, 647 students earned government medical seats in 2024, including 40 at AIIMS.
