Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history by bagging the maximum number of awards in an IPL season. This happened in his second IPL season when Vaibhav bagged five awards at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday night. He is just a kid aged 15 years and he managed to do what even the veteran players cannot do.

In that particular season, Vaibhav scored 776 runs in 16 matches at a very impressive strike rate of 237.31 and took 72 sixes, thus making several records in that particular tournament. Though the 2026 IPL final match was fought between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans teams, Vaibhav's shocking performance during award presentation became history that day because he managed to achieve what no veteran player had ever been able to do. Sachin, Gayle, and Kohli won two awards each.

  • Sachin Tendulkar - Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player of the Season (2010)
  • Chris Gayle - Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player of the Season (2011)
  • Virat Kohli - Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player of the Season (2016)
  • Harshal Patel - Purple Cap and Most Valuable Player of the Season (2021)
  • Jos Buttler - Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player of the Season (2022)
  • Shubman Gill - Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player of the Season (2023)

Suryavanshi was the breakout star of IPL 2026. The left-handed batsman played the world's best bowlers with ease and also displayed maturity in high-pressure situations. In fact, it was because of him that Rajasthan Royals reached Qualifier 2. After a record-breaking IPL season, Vaibhav will now be looking to break into the senior Indian team after his impressive performances for India A, which he considers the biggest challenge of his career.
