The Royal Challengers Bangalore are second at the moment in the Indian Premier League 2026 having played nine games. They have traveled to the Maldives. Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, they have been victorious in six games, while losing three games. It appears that they are very close to qualifying for the playoffs as they just need two wins out of the five remaining matches.
The upcoming games for the RCB are on May 7th against the Lucknow Super Giants. The others include matches against the Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Ahead of that, the team has arrived in the Maldives, where they will spend a week together on vacation. The defending champions played their last match against the Gujarat Titans, where they lost by four wickets.
However, RCB isn't the only team this season to go on vacation mid-tournament. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders mentor Dwayne Bravo shared a photo of himself from the Maldives on his Instagram account. Last year, Kevin Pietersen, who was the mentor of the Delhi Capitals, also visited the Maldives and shared some photos on his social media account.
It's worth noting that along with RCB, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Gujarat Titans are also leading the playoff race. SRH, RR, and PBKS have won six matches each, while the Gujarat Titans have won five out of nine. Rajasthan Royals have won 6 out of 10 matches, Punjab Kings have won 6 out of 8, and Sunrisers have won 6 out of 9.
