The English team beat Panama with a score of 2-0 in group L of FIFA World Cup 2026 at the New Jersey Stadium, New York. The victory assisted England in topping the group and advancing to the Round of 32.

The match turned out to be very interesting and exciting from the beginning of the play. England made numerous attacks, but the defense of Panama prevented them from scoring in the first half. Coach Thomas Tuchel made a large number of changes to his lineup after the recent draw with Ghana in the previous match. Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Morgan Rodgers played their first World Cup match.

In the first half of the game, Rashford made multiple opportunities to score but failed to break through Panama's defense. His strong shot was blocked by Panama's goalkeeper Orlando Mosquera at the start of the match. He also tried a header off Elliot Anderson's cross but missed.

However, in the second half, England put even more pressure on Panama's defense, which paid off in the 62nd minute. Jude Bellingham, following a Bukayo Saka corner, delivered a superb volley, giving England a 1-0 lead. This was Bellingham's second goal of the tournament. Just five minutes later, Harry Kane extended England's lead to 2-0.

Kane scored the second goal of the match with a superb header. Panama created several chances after this goal, but they couldn't overcome England's strong defense. José Luis Rodríguez's brilliant shot was saved by England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. In the final moments of the match, José Furjardo put the ball inside the goalpost, but the goal was disallowed due to offside. Panama failed to earn a single point in the entire tournament.
