Heat conditions and heat waves in the region of Rajasthan are anticipated to persist for the next two weeks. IMD has predicted extended weather conditions, where maximum temperatures of between 44 and 47 degrees Centigrade are possible for most of the districts of Rajasthan. The rainfall in the state will also be less than the average levels.

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center prediction for 22nd May to 4th June, dry conditions will prevail across most parts of the state. However, due to western disturbance on 22nd and 23rd May, there could be rains, drizzles, thunderstorm, and gusty winds in parts of northwest and north Rajasthan. Wind velocity can rise up to 40 to 50 km/h.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall activity across the state is expected to be below normal in the next two weeks. Light drizzle is possible in some parts of southeastern Rajasthan in the second week, while the rest of the state will remain dry.

The department has also issued a warning of a persistent heatwave in most districts. Severe heatwave conditions are possible in some areas between May 24 and 27. Maximum temperatures are expected to be 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal in the first week, while they may remain 1 to 3 degrees above normal in the second week.

Night temperatures are also not expected to provide significant relief. Minimum temperatures are also expected to remain 2 to 4 degrees above normal. According to Meteorological Department data, Rajasthan received 88 percent less rainfall than normal between May 15 and 21. During this period, the state received only 0.3 mm of rainfall, while the normal average is considered to be 2.7 mm.

According to meteorologists, the western disturbance and upper air cyclonic circulation over northern Pakistan and Punjab remain in effect, but their impact in Rajasthan is likely to be limited.
