In an attempt to curb drug trafficking in Jodhpur, the police and the Anti-Narcotics Force (NTF) joined hands in carrying out an operation that led to the discovery of a large-scale clandestine factory for manufacturing drugs. The factory for producing MD, which was discovered on late Saturday evening, is located in a secluded plot of land close to Lunavpura village in Balesar. There was an encounter that led to injuries sustained by one of the suspects and arrests of others.

The operation took place in total secrecy according to the police officials who were involved. Using instructions from their senior colleagues, the policemen disguised themselves as villagers using a tractor trolley. Around 3:30 a.m., the team raided a house in a field where drugs were being illegally manufactured using sophisticated machinery and chemical equipment.

As soon as the police team arrived, the smugglers opened fire. In retaliation, the police fired back, hitting one of the accused in the leg. Another suspect fell and was injured while trying to escape. Police detained more than half a dozen suspects and seized weapons, chemicals, and equipment used in drug manufacturing. Preliminary investigations revealed the recovery of approximately 100 kilograms of MD drugs, estimated to be worth several crores of rupees in the international market. Investigating agencies suspect that this factory may be linked to interstate and international drug trafficking networks.

Following the incident, security has been tightened in Balesar and surrounding areas. A forensic team arrived at the scene and collected evidence. Police officials say the campaign against the illegal drug trade will continue and strict action will be taken against all those involved.
