The heat wave in Rajasthan is likely to intensify once more within the coming days due to dry weather conditions. According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms and rainfall would be fewer in most regions of the state. However, there might be occasional light rainfall and moderate thunderstorms in the northeastern part of Rajasthan during the next 2-3 days.
The department has forecasted that the maximum temperature in most districts is likely to increase by 3-5 degrees Celsius within the next 3-4 days. A temperature close to 45 degrees Celsius is likely to be witnessed in the Jodhpur region border areas by May 9.
A new round of heatwaves is expected to begin in western Rajasthan from May 9th. The intense heat and heatwave are expected to intensify, particularly in Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for strong dust storms in the Jodhpur division and surrounding areas. Strong winds with speeds of 20 to 30 kilometers per hour are expected for the next 3-4 days, starting May 7th.
Regarding the state's weather during the past 24 hours, the weather remained clear in most areas on Wednesday. Light rain was recorded at some places. Western Rajasthan experienced the most heatwave effects. Phalodi was the hottest district, with a maximum temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius. Jaisalmer and Barmer also recorded temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Sirohi at 16.9 degrees Celsius. The weather remained relatively cold in Mount Abu too, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.4 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 18.9 degrees Celsius.
