The Kerala government will undertake extensive effort for the benefit of society. This year, the Kerala government plans to open 10,000 new yoga clubs across the state. This information was provided today by State Health Minister Veena George on the occasion of World Yoga Day. She made these remarks at the state-level launch of the 10th International Yoga Day at Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium.

George said in his statement that yoga is best for a healthy body and mind as it can ward off diseases and strengthen the immune system. He also said that keeping lifestyle diseases at bay is one of the 10 major projects under the Nava Kerala Action Plan and yoga plays an important role in it.
