On PM Modi's Maharashtra tour today, he will inaugurate the city's first fully underground metro line, Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Mumbai Metro Line 3. He will also inaugurate and perform the Bhoomi Pujan of other development projects in Mumbai. A 12.69-kilometre length of Mumbai Metro Line 3 between Aarey JVLR and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) will be partially opened at the same time.

PM Modi announced on Twitter that there will be a convergence of development and heritage in the inauguration and foundation stone laying of numerous projects in Maharashtra about his visit to Mumbai. After the inauguration of the Banjara Heritage Museum in Washim at 11.30 a.m., I will participate in the farmers' program. Following that, I'll be attending the Thane development program.

The list of dignitaries who will attend this program includes Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.

PM Modi will arrive at BKC Metro Station for the flagging off ceremony of Line 3 and take a ride from BKC to Santacruz metro station and come back to BKC. On the journey, he will have interaction with Ladki Behen beneficiaries, students and workers on board the train.

The Prime Minister will also be launching MetroConnect3 - a mobile app that is aimed at increasing the experience of travel with modern facilities. A coffee table book on the journey of Underground Metro in Mumbai will also be released by the Prime Minister. The book contains a set of breathtaking visuals detailing out the journey of the Metro.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone to construct the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, to be built at a cost of about Rs 12,200 crores. The said project is projected to have a length of 29 km with 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. This ambitious infrastructure project is one of the biggest initiatives towards fulfilling the growing transportation needs of Thane, which is one of the major industrial and commercial hubs of Maharashtra.
